Get Inspired at the 2025 Peace Teach-In

Find Out More on Immigration, Migration and First Nation Peoples Experiences in October

All are invited to attend 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s annual 2025 Peace Teach-In October 13-15 on its Romeoville Campus, where the interdisciplinary and intersectional complexities of immigration, migration and the experience of First Nation peoples will be explored. All Peace Teach-In events are free and open to the public.

Over the course of three days, 14 sessions will analyze the intricacies and challenges of the Doctrine of Discovery, the experience of Indigenous peoples, and who is considered ‘truly American’ in the United States. The series is expected to inspire potential actions that will address the discussed challenges.

The Gros Memorial Event, held from noon-2 p.m. on October 15, is the only event that requests registration. The annual lecture will be presented in two parts by Sarah Augustine, former director of the . The indigenous community advocate will lead Part 1 of the event with a discussion on a 100-year vision for dismantling the law of colonialism. Part 2 follows up with examining practical tools for engaging in concrete systems change and repair. After the event, Augustine will be signing her book, “The Land is Not Empty”.

The Peace Teach-In is sponsored by the Gros Institute½ý²Ô»å Peace & Justice Studies bachelor’s degree p°ù´Ç²µ°ù²¹³¾.
